CORPORATE LEARNING

Practise the conversations that matter.

Your team has done the workshop. They know the framework. Can they actually do it when a customer pushes back, a direct report gets defensive, or a procurement head goes cold?

50 trucks. ₹18,000 a day in downtime. Now retain the account.

Altius Simulation Interface: Chat with Vikram

It feels like messaging a real person. That's the point. The AI responds in one to two seconds.

THE PROBLEM ISN'T KNOWLEDGE

People learn to do difficult things by doing difficult things.

The problem is rarely knowledge. Your people probably know what a good discovery question sounds like. They know they should listen before pitching. They know the SBI model for giving feedback. They just can't do it consistently when the pressure is real, the customer is impatient, and the stakes are high.

A surgeon practises on a cadaver before operating on a patient. A pilot practises on a simulator before flying a plane. For the human side of professional work, we still rely on classroom role-plays, e-learning modules, and hope.

That gap between knowing and doing? That's what Altius is built for.

Anywhere there is a human interaction that matters, Altius can simulate it.

RECOGNITION

What this looks like in your industry.

Automotive / Manufacturing

A dealer relationship manager meets a fleet operator threatening to switch brands. He owns 50 trucks. Downtime is costing him ₹18,000 per truck per day. He wants answers, not apologies.

Pharmaceutical / Healthcare

A medical rep visits a senior cardiologist sceptical about switching molecules. He has five minutes. He's seen three reps today. He has zero patience for a generic product pitch.

FMCG / Consumer Goods

A distributor sales officer visits a retailer threatening to give more shelf space to a competitor. The retailer isn't angry. He's just pragmatic. He'll stock whoever makes his life easier.

  • GCCs — India has 1,600+ Global Capability Centres. Cross-cultural communication, stakeholder escalations, and influencing without authority are persistent gaps. A delivery lead handling a tense status call with a US-based VP frustrated by timeline slippage.
  • Banking — Every branch interaction, every loan conversation, every portfolio review is a trust moment. An RM advising a salaried professional on a home loan, navigating competitor offers and CIBIL anxiety.
  • Insurance — Advisor-customer trust is the product. An advisor discussing term insurance with a young couple who believe "nothing will happen to us."
  • Wealth Management — HNI conversations require nuance. A wealth advisor rebalancing a portfolio after a market correction. A trust recovery conversation.
  • IT Services — Client relationships drive renewals and expansions. A delivery manager on a QBR with a client considering in-housing a function currently outsourced.
  • Telecom — High churn, price-sensitive, volume-driven. An enterprise account manager defending a renewal against an MVNO undercutting by 30%.
  • Real Estate — High-ticket, consultative, emotionally charged. A sales consultant following up with a buyer stalling on a ₹1.2 Cr decision. "I need to discuss with family."
  • Healthcare (Hospitals) — Patient-facing communication, anxious families. A front-desk coordinator explaining a billing discrepancy to an anxious family member.
  • Hospitality — Every guest touchpoint is a brand moment. A duty manager resolving a room-upgrade dispute with a loyalty member threatening a bad review.
  • E-commerce / D2C — Every interaction is documented and potentially public. A customer success agent handling a returns dispute with a repeat buyer threatening a social media complaint.
  • Staffing / Recruitment — Recruiter-candidate and recruiter-client conversations are the entire business.
  • ConsultingA junior consultant presenting a finding that contradicts what the client CEO believes.
  • Energy / Infrastructure — Long-cycle, high-stakes projects. A project manager explaining a construction delay to a municipal commissioner during a review meeting.

If your team has conversations that matter, with customers, stakeholders, partners, regulators, or each other, Altius can simulate them.

WHAT WE'VE BUILT

This isn't a concept. Altius is live, deployed, and tested.

  • ° Customer-centricity simulations for a leading Indian automotive OEM. 40 managers across Parts, Sales, and Service practised retention conversations with an AI fleet operator and received individualised coaching debriefs.
  • ° B2B discovery simulation. Learners practise qualification conversations with a C-suite buyer mid-crisis: customs hold, a Diwali deadline, operational chaos. The system evaluates crisis-appropriate tone, probing depth, and stakeholder awareness. Deployed in corporate pilots and with a business school cohort.
  • ° GCC cross-cultural discovery simulation. Client Solutions teams scope a Norwegian client's GCC workplace fit-out: discovery under Nordic directness, honest expectation-setting, and scoping without over-promising. Live as The Nordic Standard on /demos.
  • ° Leadership and governance simulation. Regional banking leaders practise difficult feedback when a star RM kept a borrower green through covenant breaches: SBI, empathy without collusion, and shared accountability before Credit closes the book. Live as The Green RAG on the homepage DemoTeaser and /demos.
  • ° Modular scenario architecture. Each simulation is self-contained: persona, scene, briefing, and rubric. New scenarios can be designed, tested, and deployed in days.
  • ° Production-grade platform. Magic-link authentication, role-based access, organisation-level data isolation, streaming AI responses, and automated coaching evaluation.

Six problems classrooms can't solve

1° The Practice Gap.

Your people know the framework. They can't execute it under pressure.

2° The Consistency Gap.

You can't clone your best coaches.

3° The Proof Gap.

"The training was excellent" is not a business metric.

40 managers.
One OEM, one IO programme.
Same platform, different cohorts.

4° The Scale Problem.

Classroom role-plays simply don't work past 30 people.

5° The Embarrassment Problem.

Adults don't want to role-play in front of peers. Altius removes the audience.

6° The Relevance Problem.

Every team thinks "our conversations are different." And they're right.

WHAT A LEARNER SESSION LOOKS LIKE

Four steps. One conversation that matters.

1°

The briefing.

Your rep gets a scenario link via email. They read a contextual briefing the way you'd prep before a real meeting. "You're about to meet Vikram, the fleet operations head at a logistics company. He's unhappy about delayed spare parts and is considering switching to a competitor."

2°

The conversation.

The learner chats with an AI-powered persona. Not a chatbot. Not a script. A character with a backstory, a personality, hidden concerns, emotional triggers, and responses that adapt in real time. The conversation runs for 15 to 25 exchanges — calibrated to the scenario, simulating the natural arc of a real interaction. Privately, at their own pace, as many times as they need.

3°

The coaching debrief.

The moment the conversation ends, a structured, behaviour-level scorecard. Strengths. Areas to improve. Per-criterion scores. Overall assessment. The rubric is custom-built for your scenario.

4°

Your dashboard.

Who has completed. Full transcripts you can drill into for coaching QA. The scored debrief sits with the specialist path. Cohort patterns still land for the programme: if 80% of the team scored low on needs discovery, you know exactly what to focus the next workshop on.

CAPABILITY MAPPING

Six behaviours you can finally measure.

Active listening under pressure.

Probing without interrupting. Reflecting without paraphrasing into safety.

Objection handling.

Acknowledging the resistance before answering it.

Delivering difficult news.

Clarity without cruelty. Empathy without softening the message.

Influencing without authority.

Building the case, not pulling rank.

Stakeholder navigation.

Reading the room and adjusting position in real time.

Recovery from missteps.

What you do when the conversation goes wrong.

Your behaviour framework, our rubric. Mapped one-to-one.

Different from what you've tried

What you've tried What was missing How Altius is different
Classroom role-plays Facilitator-dependent. Don't scale past 30. People play it safe in front of peers. Same rigorous AI persona for every learner. Private. Scored.
E-learning / video modules Passive. Click-through. Completion is not competence. The learner does the conversation. Not watches a video about it.
Generic AI chatbots Shallow, robotic, not built for your context. Custom personas with backstories, hidden concerns, emotional triggers.
Video role-play tools A recorded monologue. No actual conversation. A two-way conversation that adapts in real time.
On-the-job learning Slow. High-stakes. Inconsistent. You only discover someone can't do it when they fail with a real customer. Altius lets people fail safely, learn from it, and walk into the real conversation ready.

The difference is not the AI. It is the L&D craft inside it.

The L&D / Training Head

Head of L&D, VP Sales Enablement, GM Training, CLO

"I need to scale training to 200 people across 8 cities, prove it worked, and do it again next quarter."

The HRBP

HR Business Partner, Senior HRBP

"Our managers know the feedback framework. They still avoid the conversation. I need something that builds the muscle, not just the model."

The Line / Functional Head

Sales Director, VP Customer Success, Head of Procurement, Quality Head

"My team knows what to do. They just don't do it when it counts. Give me practice, not more theory."

If any of these sound like you — or like someone you work with — let's talk.

HOW WE SET THIS UP

You brief. We build. Your team practises.

This is what happens after you say yes: the operator path from first brief to cohort evidence. The four steps above are the learner session.

1°

Brief.

You name one conversation that matters: who the counterpart is, what is at stake, and which behaviours you want assessed. What do your best people do that average performers don't?

2°

Design.

We build the persona, the learner briefing, the scene rules, and the rubric. Usually days, not a platform project. You don't write prompts. You don't configure an LMS.

3°

Review.

You (and a line SME if you want one) play-test. We iterate until the pushback feels real and the scoring matches what "good" looks like in your organisation. Live in one to two weeks from a clear brief.

4°

Cohort.

We stand up your organisation space and invite the pilot group by email. Magic link. Browser on phone or laptop. No app. No LMS required.

5°

Run.

People practise asynchronously. You see who has completed and can open transcripts for coaching QA.

6°

Debrief & evidence.

An L&D specialist (ADA, or someone on your team we have trained) runs the coaching debrief from the Altius analysis: transcript, behaviour scores, what to fix next. You leave with individual scorecards and a cohort summary leadership can actually read.

A typical first run is 20 to 30 people on one scenario. See the pilot shape below.

Practicalities

Setup time One to two weeks from brief to live scenario.
What you provide A description of the conversation, the counterpart type, and the behaviours you want to assess. We do the rest.
Learner access Browser-based. Phone or laptop. No app. No download. No LMS integration required.
Cohort management We invite your cohort by email. You track completion and transcripts. Cohort summary for leadership via the specialist debrief path.
Languages English first. Hindi and regional language support on the roadmap.
Data and privacy All data is organisation-isolated. You see only your team's data. Hosting and compliance discussed per organisation.
Pricing Per-scenario, per-cohort. No platform licence. No multi-year lock-in.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Four questions worth thinking about.

  • Your capability challenge. What's the one conversation your people need to get better at, and can't learn from a classroom alone?
  • A scenario that matters. If you could put every person through one realistic practice conversation, what would it look like? Who would they talk to? What would be hard about it?
  • What "good" looks like. How do your best performers handle this situation differently from the average ones?
  • A pilot. Would you be open to a two-week pilot with 20 to 30 participants on a single scenario, so you can see the data and decide from there?
  • ° 20 to 30 reps from one team.
  • ° One scenario that matters most to that team.
  • ° Full debriefs, individual scorecards, and a cohort report.
  • ° No platform licence. No annual contract.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions worth answering before you pilot.

Why training doesn't change behaviour

Why doesn't corporate training change how people behave under pressure?

Most corporate training is built to transfer knowledge: frameworks, models, compliance content, slide decks. That works for what people know. It rarely works for what people do when a customer pushes back, a deadline slips, or a direct report gets defensive.

The pattern has a name and a literature: Jeffrey Pfeffer and Robert Sutton's knowing-doing gap (Harvard Business School Press, 2000). Learning transfer research since has confirmed the same thing repeatedly: most training improves knowledge. Sustained behaviour change on the job is less common, and the gap traces almost always to one cause: no deliberate rehearsal in conditions that feel real. Altius™ is built for that second step: the practice conversation and the structured coaching debrief that follows. That is how knowing becomes doing.

Why do sales reps know the discovery framework but still jump to pitch in live calls?

Because knowing the framework and executing it when a buyer is impatient, sceptical, or mid-crisis are different skills. A rep can explain SPIN® Selling (Huthwaite International) or consultative selling frameworks in a classroom. On a live call, the instinct to relieve tension often wins: offer a discount, lead with the deck, skip to the product.

The workshop did not necessarily fail. The rep may never have practised handling that pushback in conditions that felt real. Altius™ gives reps a private space to run those conversations repeatedly, with a persona that responds the way buyers actually do, and a debrief that shows exactly where they jumped to pitch.

Why do managers avoid difficult feedback conversations even after training?

Managers often leave training knowing the model: SBI (Center for Creative Leadership), feedforward frameworks, whatever your programme uses. The gap is not the model. It is the muscle: staying calm, leading with observation, letting the other person respond, holding silence when it gets uncomfortable.

That muscle is hard to build in a group workshop where everyone is performing for the room. Many managers avoid the conversation entirely, or rush through it to end the discomfort. Altius™ lets managers practise feedback and performance conversations privately, with realistic pushback, and receive behaviour-level coaching on what they actually said, not what they intended to say.

Why does classroom role-play stop working once a team grows past 30 people?

High-quality role-play needs time, attention, and a skilled facilitator for each participant. Past roughly 30 people, the maths breaks down: you move to group exercises where half the room watches, or you skip practice and hope the content sticks.

Across geographies, quality becomes a postcode lottery. Your best manager in one city runs sharp role-plays; another city gets a polite walk-through. Altius™ delivers the same rigorous AI counterpart and rubric to every learner at once, without flying facilitators to eight cities.

Why do adults underperform in peer role-plays, even when they know the framework?

Social risk. A mid-career sales manager will not fumble through a tough objection in front of colleagues. They default to something smooth and generic. The exercise looks polished; nobody actually stretched.

Altius™ removes the audience: each simulation is between the learner and the AI persona. People try harder, fail more honestly, and learn faster when peers are not in the room.

How do L&D leaders prove to leadership that training improved performance, beyond smile sheets and attendance?

Leadership asks a fair question: Did this change how people perform? Attendance registers and Level 1 feedback cannot answer it. What you need is behavioural evidence: how someone actually handled an objection, a negotiation, or a difficult conversation with a direct report, not just whether they attended.

Altius™ produces transcript-backed coaching debriefs with per-criterion behaviour scores against a rubric built for your context. You can show individual improvement, cohort patterns ("80% scored low on needs discovery"), and exportable summaries for your CFO. That is evidence of doing.

How Altius is different

How is Altius different from e-learning or a standard LMS module?

E-learning and LMS modules are strong at distributing content: videos, quizzes, completion tracking. They are passive. Finishing a module is not the same as handling a live customer or a defensive stakeholder.

Altius™ is active practice. The learner has a two-way conversation with a persona that adapts in real time, then receives a coaching debrief on behaviour. You do not need to replace your LMS; you add the practice layer that modules cannot provide. Learners access simulations via a browser link; no app install required.

What happens after the simulation: is there a coaching debrief or just a score?

A full coaching debrief, delivered by an L&D specialist. That is the point.

When the conversation ends, Altius™ generates a structured analysis: the full transcript, per-criterion behaviour scores against your rubric, and an evidence-based account of what the learner said, where the AI persona pushed back, and what was missed. Learners see a coaching prose preview (summary, strengths, areas to improve) on `/debrief`. Numeric scores and the facilitated live debrief stay with the L&D specialist.

The specialist (from ADA, or a member of your own team whom ADA has trained) uses that analysis to deliver a personalised debrief to each participant: what landed, what missed, what to work on next. The AI produces the evidence; the specialist provides the coaching judgment that turns it into behaviour change.

For large cohorts, ADA works with your L&D team to build internal debrief capability so the process scales without depending on ADA consultants on every run. Your specialists learn to read the Altius™ analysis and conduct debriefs independently.

Can Altius scenarios be customised for our industry, our stakeholders, and our rubric?

Yes. Every scenario is built for your context: the counterpart type, the stakes, the language, and the behaviours you want to measure. You describe the conversation and what "good" looks like; we design the persona, briefing, and rubric. You review and we iterate.

Scenarios are modular: persona, scene, briefing, and rubric are self-contained, so new simulations for different teams or industries can be designed and deployed in days, not months. Generic communication training fails because procurement, quality, and sales conversations are different muscles. Altius™ treats them that way.

Is the AI persona just a chatbot, or does it actually react to how I handle the conversation?

It reacts. That is the product. The persona has a backstory, hidden concerns, and emotional triggers. It responds to what you say, how you say it, and what you leave out.

If the learner asks sharp questions, the persona opens up. If they jump to a pitch, it gets guarded. If they show empathy, it softens. If they get pushy, it pushes back. The conversation runs 15–25 exchanges, long enough for a real dynamic. It is designed to feel like messaging a real person, because practice only works if the pressure feels real.

In a live deployment with a leading Indian automotive OEM, 40 managers practised with an AI fleet operator who was unhappy, under pressure, and weighing a switch to a competitor. The conversations required empathy, probing, and commercial creativity. Each manager's choices produced a different dialogue. The best way to see how the persona behaves is to run one. Try a scenario →

What evidence shows Altius actually changes behaviour, beyond engagement metrics?

In a live deployment with a leading Indian automotive OEM, 40 managers across Parts, Sales, and Service practised customer-centricity conversations and received individual specialist debriefs. 94% said they would recommend it to peers. Rated 4.6/5 for programme relevance.

That figure follows from how the debrief process works: Altius™ generates per-criterion behaviour scores and a full transcript for each participant; the L&D specialist uses that data to deliver coaching that is specific, evidence-backed, and grounded in what the person actually said and did. Recommendation follows from that quality of feedback, not from session completion.

Getting started

How long does it take to deploy an Altius simulation from brief to live?

Typically one to two weeks from brief to live scenario. You provide a description of the conversation, the counterpart, and the behaviours you want assessed; we build the persona, briefing, and rubric. You review; we iterate until it is right.

The full operator path (brief through debrief and evidence) is on this page under How we set this up.

Does Altius require an LMS integration or an app install?

No. Learners need a phone or laptop with a browser. They receive a magic link by email, read the briefing, and start. No app download. No LMS integration required, though we can discuss it if your organisation wants one.

How is Altius priced: per user, per cohort, or platform licence?

Per-scenario, per-cohort. There is no platform licence and no multi-year lock-in required. You pay for the simulations you run with the cohorts you care about, not for shelfware. Annual arrangements are available if you prefer them, but they are not the default model.

Can a learner redo the simulation? Is repetition built in?

That depends on the programme design, and we have a recommendation.

Behaviour rarely changes in a single pass. On the same scenario, we suggest two to three attempts with a specialist debrief between each: the debrief shows what shifted; the next attempt applies it. That cycle is what makes the behaviour reliable, not just improved once.

From there, the progression moves across scenarios: a different counterpart, a harder conversation type, a new stakeholder. Each with a debrief. That breadth is what builds a transferable capability. How many attempts and scenarios to build in is something we design at the outset with your L&D team, not something left to learner discretion on the day.

Is each simulation private, and can peers or managers see a participant's transcript?

During practice, there is no audience of peers watching a role-play. That is the psychological safety difference. The conversation is between the learner and the AI persona.

Organisation administrators (L&D, HRBP, functional leads you designate) can see completion status and drill into full transcripts for coaching QA and reporting. Debriefs and behaviour scores go to the specialist path (ADA, or a member of your team whom ADA has trained), not the corporate admin dashboard. Access is organisation-isolated; you see only your team's data. You control who has admin visibility. Peers do not watch each other practise live.
